To the Pawrents

Dear Pawrents, 💌

A gentle reminder to all the pet owners out there: Please, please take extra good care of your pets especially now that the weather has been so unbearable. The extreme heat we’ve been facing has been hard on all of us. Fortunately for some of us, we can find relief in the comfort of our air-conditioned rooms and vehicles. However, our fur babies aren’t always as lucky.

Remember, animals are very much prone to heat stroke as well as other different kinds of health complications that could put their lives at risk.

1. Please make sure that your pets have proper ventilation. At least leave an electric fan turned on in the same room/area in which they are staying.

2. Make sure they have access to clean water AT ALL TIMES. Try to put some ice in their water during the hottest time of the day. It does help.

3. Please, please DO NOT take your pets out to walk while the heat is at its peak. I’ve heard of many cases wherein pet dogs have dropped dead while out on a sunny walk. Best times would be either very early in the morning or late afternoon/early evening. And if possible, try to carry some water with you just in case you notice that your pet is panting heavily.

Sorry for the long post, guys! But it does help to be aware and extra careful. Always take your fur babies’ needs into consideration. Let’s all be responsible pet owners. 🐶
